I am on the fence with this place. 1st time I went I was not impressed. Driving 1 hour to get there certainly put me in a bad mood to start. This 1st experience was not bad, it just was not anything to write home about. I do/did like that the atmosphere and staff is warm and friendly. My second time, the food seemed better. I wish there was an alternative to the star rating. Like maybe a timer so you could rate how long of a drive this place is worth. I would give it a solid 15 minute max.

Wow! Some of the best Italian food I've had in a long time. Great staff, so friendly. Really great experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine Italian food. Tiramasu was heaven on a plate.

Good food but mediocre service.... this is my first time being here & I wanted to try out my new place we went early lunch hour or what we thought would be but there were almost closing. The restaurant was pretty empty and even still the waiter was not very attentive. He rather text and play on his phone then taking care of the customers that were currently there. I would go back because the food tasted good but I would have to go when they were busier to C if the other servers are better.

We had no plans to eat here in fact we did not even know this place existed. We initially were going to eat at our friends place in the same shopping area Vienna Cafe and Bistro. Our friends at Vienna recommended us to go to this Italian restaurant because they were booked. Im sure glad we did because this place ended up being very good. It is hidden in the corner of the shopping mall with a side entrance. As we walked in we were greeted by Omar and we're immediately seated. Our server was very attentive and friendly. In fact all the staff seamed to have great team work and they all had happy attitudes. The wine selection was decent and priced right. Our food was very good. We should have shared because the portions were big. Garlic rolls delish Spaghetti carbonara fresh and creamy. Great sauce with added mushrooms. Delish Will definitely recommend this place and will definitely come.

Great intimate spot! Very attentive service and everything we ordered was great. Split a bowl of Fagioli Soup which had an amazing flavor. Then split an order of Mussels in tomato and garlic. I love mussels prepared this way and this dish was in all time top 5!!! Then we split a San Remo pizza which had roasted red peppers and Grilled Chicken. The crust was excellent but what was most apparent was the high quality mozzarella cheese. We will be back for sure! Tony was our waiter and he was nothing but professional

Marola's Trattoria never disappoints. Omar always greets guests with a smile and conversation - quick to make sure that everything tastes good and nothing more is needed. The menu covers all of the most treasured Italian favorites. If you are looking for homestyle, Italian comfort food, you will be pleased. Lunch began with the calamari appetizer that was lightly breaded and seasoned so as not to interfere with the tender and savory morsels. One can choose from garlic or plain rolls. Both are delicious with a crispy, flaky crust and moist interior (and not dripping with olive oil or butter like other places.) The Pizza Al Gamberi boasts a thin and crispy crust and Monterey Jack cheese. The capers and roasted red peppers are a perfect complement to bite-sized tender pieces of shrimp. The homemade fettuccine is served with the appropriate amount of Alfredo sauce, a balance of seasonings, and generous portion. There is a good selection of wines by the glass, plus sparkling and dessert wines. Prices for a bottle are not a deep pocket investment either. One can buy a reasonably priced bottle of good California or Chilean red for about $20.00 or splurge on an awesome Barolo or Cab for about $85.00. If you have room for dessert with an espresso, be sure to try the Tiramisu. Not wanting a heavy dessert, Omar treated me to (off the menu) "Deconstructed Cannoli" - strawberry slices, dulce de leche, pieces of cannoli, a bit of whipped ricotta, and topped with chocolate sauce --- just the perfect amount of sweet after the lunchtime mini-feast!

My favorite Italian restaurant! Food is great and the owner and staff are super professional! Great place!

Still one of my favorites! We used to live close by and go here more often. Moved about 30 minutes away, but saw a groupon/living social etc and decided to get one. Just as good as I remembered. It's not super high end, but it's a nice cozy place that classes it up with tablecloths and darker lighting. We chatted with Omar (the owner) at the end of the night as he came by to see if everything was ok. Really looking forward to going back.

While scouting out lunch for a quick bite without a huge appetite for two on a weekday, we manage to walk in to this Italian restaurant. First thing you'll notice is a small detour towards the side with a couple outdoor seating which is quaint especially on a cooler day. We were the only ones being seated and was asked garlic or plain rolls, without hesitation we both said garlic. Nice to know that they have plain rolls as an option. Not sure if it's heavily known but one of the reasons we came across this place was that they had a lunch menu. Even better, they have a lunch special which includes a drink, rolls, soup or salad, and entree for 12$. We're pretty infamous for our indecisiveness while scanning the menu that our server was extremely polite and helpful in helping us choose to cater for two, to which we were happy to hear that we can share their lunch special. We of course started out with the garlic rolls and WOW, they were delicious. You can tell these guys do it fresh as you can tear a piece off without a fuss nor does it feel like a rock. As for that garlic? Your date surely won't mind your heavy garlic breath because they will have it too! Next we had the caesar salad, well, not quite. We usually save our salad for last as our palate refresher (or as culturally known). Not drenched in dressing and enough cheese for every bite, we enjoyed it. For our lunch entree we were relieved that we shared it because we couldn't had made it through if we didn't. The Veal Bianca was very savory along with the mushrooms and artichokes. The wine sauce however was very light where the cheese took most of the credit; although who would complain about cheese? We will sure be back for the rest of our remaining decisions and hopefully a heavier appetite!

We love this place for a date night or dinner with friends! In countryside shoppes near our house - once inside I felt like I was in a 5 star restaurant! Food is amazing. The staff is very attentive and of course the wine! Yumm cannot say enough about this place. You'll have to try it for yourself!

Wowzer! What a find! Tucked away in a little shopping center is this wonderful delightfully delish restaurant! I was turned on to the place by some friends that frequent the establishment. Our friends insisted on the pear appetizer which as they said, was the bomb! Pears wrapped in prosciutto and mascarpone cheese. That was heaven! Ask for them as they aren't always on the menu! I then enjoyed a house salad and the Dover Sole special with angel hair pasta. One of the best meals I have ever had. I love how quaint the establishment is. Very warm, clean and the staff was knowledgeable, friendly and service was spot on. We even got a table side visit by the delightful owner. What a nice man. Love this place! Will definitely be back!

The food here is the best Italian I ever had in South Florida. The Pizza, Lasagna, Eggplant, Chicken Cutlet, Veal, Tartufo are exceptional. The service is very good and very friendly. I highly recommend!

Went here for Mother's day and I was very pleased with our meal. The staff was very friendly and happy to be there. The veal marsala was very good. We also ordered the lasagna and that was ok. We ordered a shrimp pasta dish and a chicken pasta dish which were good. The cannoli's were good but small and for $5 each that's a bit overpriced. I would eat here again if I want to eat good Italian food and not break the bank.

The soups are fabulous, my husband always orders a bowl of the Pasta Fagioli. The garlic rolls are soo good.Try the Penne Alla Vodka, its one of my go-to meals here. The weekly specials are interesting and always worth giving a try.Truly one of my favorite restaurants.

This is a little long, but it's a warning to any future potential patron. My brother, sister, and I have a standing date night every Saturday. We had, years ago, dined at Marola's and enjoyed our meal. We decided to go there for our dinner this evening. That was a mistake. Our waiter, Tony, greeted us shortly after we sat down and he took our drink orders. Brought our drinks, and then we never saw him again. That is until our 1st complaint to the owner, Omar. Then he checked on us a whole 2 times for the rest of the evening. According to the owner there are no set waiters or waitresses but that everyone helps out, which we are familiar with and if that's the case then somebody should have checked on us when our drinks sat empty for 10 minutes, only getting filled when my brother raised his hand- like in school. Pitiful. The worst came when I, again, asked to speak to the manager about our horrible evening and the blame ended up landing on me. He said that after my first complaint they'd bent over backwards to make us happy. Bullshit. We were ignored. He said there was nothing he could do, which I have a hard time seeing as he's the owner, and apologized. When I said I didn't think he was being sincere he AGREED. Who does that? We love going out to eat, we are easy patrons. If this was their "bending over backwards" I'm happy to never return and to warn others in the process.

Okay I have to keep in mind that this was the place about 20 years ago that a waitress broke it to me that Dr Nathan Pritikin's research indicating that a diet comprised of 80% carbohydrates, 10% fat and protein was bunk. She was a nutrition student and I thought she was out of her mind. Turns out lots of sugar and low fat does contribute to heart disease and diabetes. Fast forward the clock to 2012 she was right, She was also the first to profess such a thing to my ears, So it is with reverence for her, and fondness for this establishment that I regard my experience there tonight with gentle expectations. Escargot appetizer was superb. Plenty and well prepared. My problem was the salad with house dressing (I am guessing since the waiter didn't ask), the Veal Marsala and the spinach were all to salty. Now the food here measures up well against any local neighborhood Italian spot, just not a destination establishment. But the wait staff is friendly and effervescent, the owner is active and the food a cut above. Perhaps the chef just had a heavy hand on the salt shaker tonight. Nothing a request to go light with it would not fix. And I did not see that young sage waitress. I doubt she no longer works there. 20 years in one spot is an accomplishment though for some.

A small classy restaurant with great service. The food is very good and well prepared. The Chef may be a little heavy handed with the garlic, but then its Italian :) The rolls are excellent but careful not to fill up on those! Appetizers: The Oysters Rockefeller was great when they used to offer them. The prosciutto warped pears are very nice ( they may not always be on the menus, but ask). This charming place works both as a family restaurant and a romantic dinner. If you have a big party, get there early or make reservations especially on holidays and weekend nights.

Excellent food and service. Very small, cozy restaurant. The lasagna is absolutely amazing. But my favorite is the Chicken Ala Vodka. The BEST garlic rolls in town. You will not be disappointed with any meal you have here. If you go for dinner on a weekend I would recommend calling for a reservation.

The best garlic rolls anywhere! We also love the pasta fagioli soup, shrimp scampi and the spaghetti carbonara with mushrooms. Everything is delicious! This place is a must try & does not disappoint!

MMMmmmmmmmMMM It has been waaaaay too long since I have been here. If I lived near Marola's, I would be there at least once a month. Although the food it totally worth the trek from West Kendall to Cooper City. The garlic rolls here are deeeeee-lish, and I love the soups and calamari. You can tell that all the dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients. Now, my absolute FAVORITE dish is the Gnocchi al tre formaggi! MMMmmmmmMMM!!! The Gnocchi is prepared to perfection, soft but not mushy and the flavor of it is so fresh. Then they top it off with that fabulous 3 cheese sauce! Oh my, to die for! I've ordered other dishes here, and they all have been quite good, but in the end I always come back to the gnocchi. I think it's time to take a little road trip...

I used to go to this restaurant 5-6 times a year. Omar has a sea bass oreganata that is out of this world. The lasagna is made with a bechamel suace that makes this dish awesome. Now the problem. I took a party of 15, a while back, (it was my BD and most in the party were also familiar with Marola's) to help me celebrate. We were enjoying a nice meal and good company when I noticed a plump juicy raisin in my potatoes. Upon further inspection it was a huge HORSEFLY. I called Omar over to show him the issue and he was appologetic and happy that I didn't make a scene as the place was packed and it's a tiny restaurant. Now I understand these things can happen from time to time but he DID NOTHING FOR ME OR MY PARTY. No free desert, bottle of wine (we went through several) and he DID NOT COMP MY MEAL! NADA, ZIPPO! I really miss this place but I will NEVER go back! Neither has anyone in my party of 15. It's too bad Omar was too cheap over a $30.00 dinner becasue he has lost THOUSANDS in reveune. Bon appetito

This little corner hole in the wall restaurant is a land has the very best handmade gnocchi. I am such a gnocchi afficionado. They melt in your mouth. Definitely very appreciated. They have lunch specials under $10 that includes a soup or caesar salad and beverage. I have found my little new italian spot can't wait to try the rest of the menu. This is a must...Guys, you gotta try it.

been here quite a few times and its a great neighborhood italian restaurant! you can eat in or take out.. ive done both. the only slight negative is that it gets crowded - which really shouldnt be a negative.. loll - but sometimes there can be a wait and the waiting area is not that big. the bread you can get with or without garlic... and trust me garlic is the way to go... omg sooo delicious!! they always have a variety of specials of the day (pasta, meat, fish) which have never failed. the first time i tried grilled calamari was at marolas.. and although it was very good.. fried is def the way i like it!! :) ive tried a variety of their pasta dishes and the pizza.. all great! they also have a great dessert selection, that is mmm mmm good!! the owner is usually there, going around table to table and making sure everything is ok.. which is a sign of well run restaurant! if you are ever in the area stop in and check it out!!

My wife, and I, have been going to Marola's since the day they opened. Omar is always a most gracious host. It's a little gem tucked away in a strip mall. Consistently great food, and service. The Chicken, and Veal Parm are fantastic. Quiet enough to have a nice romantic dinner. Would highly recommend!

LOVE this place. My family and I visit Marola's at least once a month and when we just feel like staying in, we order takeout. Super-friendly staff, always accommodating, and they've always got some great specials (osso bucco, stuffed artichokes, prosciutto-wrapped pears, YUM!) I recommend the Fettuccine Saporite or the Chicken Francaise... you won't be disappointed!!

On a recent trip to South Florida, some friends of mine took me to this restaurant. It is kind of hidden away in a strip mall type place, but once you find it, it is well worth it. The day I went, there was a fish special. In our party of 4, 3 of us ordered that special. The other person in our party ordered a chicken special. The food was AMAZING. Each of us that ordered the fish devoured it - leaving nothing on the plate. I am a big fan of fish, so I try to eat as much as I can when I go out. This was truly one of the most delicious fish preparations I have ever tasted. Our friends happened to be friends with the owner of the restaurant, so we got to talk to him and tell him how much we enjoyed the meal. Omar is an extremely friendly host and he seems to take great pride in what comes out of his kitchen. I highly recommend this restaurant to any one out in that part of Broward County!

This homey Italian eatery delivers good quality and value in suburban Cooper City. They have most of your traditional italian dishes such as parmigianas and francheses, standard pasta fare, garlic rolls, and minestrone and pasta fagioli soups, and spumoni and tiramisu for dessert. They also have a reasonable wine list, both by the glass and the bottle with a markup of about double retail on inexpensive bottles. All in all, Marola's is a solid bet for consistently good Italian comfort food at prices affordable for the whole family.

Ok I understand "you get what you pay for", BUT 70.00 for pasta is a huge negative for me. I'm old school I don't buy the whole "Italian Cuisine" spiel. It's freakin dough! Ok about Marola's, it is a nice corner restaurant with a nice mature and quiet atmosphere, always a plus. The service is meh, don't expect an upbeat personality but our server was at least accurate. We ordered a Shrimp Parmigiana 22.95 and a Chicken Franchese 20.95 both equally delicious with decent size portions. We decided to finish it off with a Tiramisu accompanied by a very very strong Cappuccino. Those were priced reasonably. Although we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, it by no means was worth 70.00. We will not return.

My husband and I are moving to Cooper City. He looked up restaurants in Cooper City and this one had great review. NOW WE KNOW WHY! This is one of the most charming and delightful restaurants we've been to! There is a side entrance that has you walk through a cute courtyard. The ambiance was very inviting. We were immediately greeted by employees, including a man who introduced himself as a co-owner. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh, authentic, and delicious. The bread tasted like it just came out of the oven. The salad dressing and soup tasted home made. Our entrees were fantastic. We kept talking about how delicious the food was as we were eating!! It was a fantastic night out!

The biz partner and I had an occasion wherein we needed the appropriate setting. It was half pitch, half appreciation, and all heartfelt. The environment had to meet the fare, the service and ambiance had to be just right... SCORE! Our client / friends suggested this place. Of course I scoped it on Yelp! before arrival, and was I glad I did, here's why: * The Garlic Bread is as advertised, very garlic-ious! * The Prosciutto wrapped pears with Marscapone cheese are the bee's knees! Total MUST HAVE. Don't visit without trying them. * I enjoyed the Salmon Special, a lil salty but I ate e'ry bit, with veggies and roasted potatoes The proprietor is friendly, knowledgeable, and endearing without being annoying. And he bought us a bottle of wine, so that rocked! The service was exemplary. Small, cozy, quiet, intimate, and delish. The secret is still safe, for now, so try the joint soon before it BLOWS UP! Great night, awesome place, wonderful food. Close by. I shall be back. Cabeza OUT!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
